What do the Tesla tests consist of?
Expect to do a day or two at the Tesla Group Assessment Centre.
Here you may be asked to make a presentation, take part in group discussions, take part in role-playing and do other tests as well.

Developed by psychologists this test will assess your strengths and weaknesses. It will give the prospective employer an idea of:

– Numerical Reasoning
Can you solve numerical problems quickly and accurately? Expect to be tested on ratios, percentages and graphs.

Expect your verbal skills and comprehension to be evaluated. You will be given a passage to read and a series of multiple-choice questions to answer on it.

This part of the assessment focuses on your abilities in using Excel and decides if you have the skills necessary for the position you are being tested for.
– Skills based testing
If you have applied for a specific role you will be tested on the necessary skills.
You could for example be tested on clerical and mechanical skills among others.

Your time at the assessment centre will end with one or more interviews.
At one point you could have expected to be interviewed by Elon Musk himself. But given the group’s current busyness, you will probably be interviewed by people from management.

Preparing for the Tesla tests
Approach your preparation as you would if preparing for any examination. With your sample papers to hand:
- Work to a timetable and ensure you leave the day before the tests free for any last-minute reviews. This is not a day for last-minute cramming.
- Set aside a designated place for your preparation.
- Work in short blocks of time. Ideally, work for 50 minutes at a time followed by a 10-minute break before returning for another 50 minutes.
- We all learn better if we take care of our physical well being. Get adequate rest, nutrition and exercise.
